For instance, they are desperate for a third-line center who can replace the likes of Tyler Bertuzzi. According to Maple Leafs Daily, that player could just be Nick Cousins, who was recently ranked by his peers as the most punchable face in the entire NHL.
Cousins is one of the best UFAs remaining, and while his offensive production diminished to just 15 points last season, the Leafs could use him as a grinder that can also produce when needed. After all, Cousins does have a Stanley Cup to his name.
Chris Tierney and Rem Pitlick are two other NHL stars who could potentially find their way onto the Maple Leafs. They are solid third-line guys who would add some depth to the Leafs roster. Regardless, Cousins does seem like the best option here, all things considered.
