Forward Shane Wright of the Seattle Kraken was a highly anticipated prospect not too long ago. Everyone was looking forward to drafting him during his draft year in 2022, and even though he was selected fourth overall rather than first, the Seattle Kraken, who own his rights, were determined to make the partnership work.
At least according to David Pagnotta of TheFourthPeriod, it appears that teams have enquired about Wright's availability now, nearly two years later, as the 2024 NHL Entry Draft draws near.
From behaving arrogant to not being coachable, there have been numerous rumors about Wright even before he was drafted. Wright didn't start off well straight away. Would Wright's growth and the Kraken, who missed the playoffs the previous season and seem to be in the midst of a retool rather than a rebuild, benefit from a change of scenery?
It remains to be seen if the twenty-year-old's solid performance in fifty-nine games for the American Hockey League's Coachella Firebirds (22 goals, 25 assists, 18 PIMS, and a +6) translates to success at the next level.
