Kraken Jordan Eberle speaks out regarding Hakstol firing
Rumors began circling after the firing of Dave Hakstol from the Seattle Kraken that he lost the room and players refused to play for him. Kraken Forward Jordan Eberle spoke out regarding that rumor and decided to set the record straight.
ESPN's Emily Kaplan was first to break this rumor stating that several significant players made it clear they did not want to play for Hakstol any longer.
Kaplan says she was told that at exit meetings, a handful of "pretty significant players" made it clear to management that they "don't want to play on this team in the future if Dave Hakstol is still the coach."
Eberle addressed those rumors and stated that
this is not how the players operate as a group or as an organization.
It became clear, general manager Ron Francis decided that he wanted to take his team down a different path without hacks all after the team suffered a set back during the season after making the playoffs for the first time in their history the season prior.
The Kraken were plagued has one of the worst scoring teams in the entire NHL through 82 games played, the crack and put together a record of 34-35-13 for 81 points with 217 goals 4 and 236 goals against which led to a - 19 goal differential.
With numerous free agents on the market and a strong cache of draft picks, the Kraken are expected to be active this summer in trying to restore what they built on from the previous year.
