The Los Angeles Kings, already facing the daunting task of staving off elimination in Edmonton, encountered another hurdle when Mikey Anderson was injured after an accidental collision with Connor McDavid.

The play unfolded unexpectedly as McDavid, dodging a check from Anze Kopitar, leaped into Anderson at significant speed. Demonstrating his understated physical prowess, McDavid hardly flinched from the impact, while Anderson, caught off guard, bore the brunt of it.

Visibly shaken, Anderson remained on the ice for a worrying few minutes before the team's medical staff could assist him to his feet. Although he managed to skate off under his own power, he was compelled to exit the game immediately.

Anderson's potential absence loomed large for the Kings, particularly as the defenseman had been logging crucial first-pairing minutes alongside Drew Doughty and contributing offensively with a goal and two assists in the series. His temporary departure shifted additional pressure onto Doughty, who logged an intense seven minutes of the subsequent 12-minute span.

Thankfully for the Kings, Anderson returned later in the game, though concerns lingered about him possibly playing through an undisclosed injury. His resilience could prove pivotal as Los Angeles fights to keep their playoff hopes alive.
