Elliotte Friedman confirms the worst for Sidney Crosby & the Penguins
Sidney Crosby was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins with the first overall pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, and they have not looked back since.
Crosby has won three Stanley Cup with the franchise and is regarded as their greatest player, even over Mario Lemieux. Furthermore, Crosby is seen as the best player in the modern era. Every single young Canadian superstar has modeled their game after Crosby, and it is very easy to see why. Now, however, Crosby must choose how he finishes out his career.
Although many have expected him to sign a deal with the Penguins, nothing has happened yet. In fact, on Elliotte Friedman's 32 Thoughts, he offered up some sobering news that may upset Penguins fans.
Essentially, Crosby does, indeed, want to finish his career with the Pittsburgh Penguins. However, he has begun considering some alternatives. Essentially, he wouldn't mind doing something else entirely, especially if it means winning a fourth Stanley Cup.
For now, it remains to be seen if and when he will make that decision. However, the fact that Friedman is now confirming this to be the case should be very concerning for all of you Penguins fans out there. Only time will tell what Sid the Kid decides.
Do you believe that Sidney Crosby will ever leave the Pittsburgh Penguins? Let us know your take on that in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
