Flyers head coach John Tortorella chose today to have a transparent and unsparing view about Carter Hart and the 2018 world junior scandal. The scandal and allegations through the Flyers into turmoil as their number one goaltender was removed from the team which caused a major shift in their goaltending depth.
"Let's face it: things got thrown into a really weird situation when we lost Carter. But having said that, we had discussions in the summer about the situation w/Carter, & figured something was gonna go on, right? We've got to be honest about it."
Tortorella and the Flyers have been under fire recently as the team who had the third spot in the metro to vision for the bulk of the year, has crumbled and is now on the outside looking in as other teams are passing them in the playoff race.
Many fans feel that he has lost his dressing room and that numerous players are not playing up to his level of competition. The temperature was so hot last week, Tortorella decided to explain to the media during a media press conference of how he feels the team is and where he stands as the coach trying to take them to the next level.
With the Flyers losers of their last seven games straight, the team has fallen on hard times and are near the bottom of the playoff race in the Eastern Conference. It will be a long climb for them and hope that other teams will lose to help put them into a playoff spot.
