Ottawa Senators Captain Displays His Frustration After Another Brutal Loss
The Ottawa Senators had a chance to break their seven-game losing streak against the struggling San Jose Sharks on Saturday night. However, they fell short in a tight 2-1 game, extending their winless streak.
As the final buzzer sounded, Senators captain Brady Tkachuk vented his frustration by smashing his stick against the Sharks' goal post.
Tkachuk, along with many teammates, hasn't had the same level of success as in previous seasons. Despite scoring 27 goals and 52 points in 61 games, he's had a quieter season compared to his career-high 83-point campaign in 2022-23. At just 24 years old, Tkachuk is signed until the end of the 2027-28 season with a cap hit of $8,205,714.
Last season, the Senators were in contention for a playoff spot, missing out on a Wild Card spot by just six points. However, this season tells a different story, with Ottawa now battling near the bottom of the league with a record of 25-33-4.
With only 20 games left in the season, the Senators and their fans are eagerly awaiting the end of this challenging stretch.
