Patrik Laine reveals how he really feels about Cedric Pare
Patrik Laine of the Montreal Canadiens suffered a sprained knee following a collision with Toronto Maple Leafs player Cedric Pare.
It was a pretty dirty hit albeit one that looked accidental. Laine could have been upset with Pare and he would been justified. However, in an interview today, Laine revealed that he is just going to take the high road. In fact, he noted that he has no ill-will toward Pare. Instead, he respects the Leafs player as Pare texted him following the incident.
"Patrik Laine says he doesn't blame #Leafs Paré for his injury; said he kind of put himself in a bad spot to begin with. Laine says Paré texted him afterwards and he respects him for that."
Laine went on to talk about how he has remained with the team throughout all of this. Overall, he could have just avoided the arena entirely due to this situation. However, he would prefer to be around his new teammates who are all trying to build some chemistry with one another.
"It's fun to be around (with my Habs teammates.) Obviously I'd much rather be on the ice but I kinda dodged a bullet with the knee. It could've been much worse. I'm not still happy with the injury but it is what it is. I'm just trying to stay positive but we'll be back, we'll be back..."
Only time will tell whether or not Laine can come back stronger than before. Do you believe that this is possible?
