Just a few days ago, Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway were hit with offer sheets by the St. Louis Blues, in a ploy to pry them from the Edmonton Oilers.

Holloway was offered a huge contract for two years at a value of $4.58 million. This was a number that Oilers fans simply were not expecting. With their cap issues, it was always going to be a tough ask to match these offer sheets. However, according to Elliotte Friedman, there is some hope right now.
The insider recently revealed that the Oilers are very much interested in matching the Holloway offer sheet. Given how good he was in the playoffs, this should be music to the ears of Oilers Nation.
"I believe the Oilers will match the offer for Holloway"

With the Oilers matching the offer for Holloway, one could deduce that this means Philip Broberg is on his way to the St. Louis Blues. The Oilers are simply lacking cap space right now, and it seems very unlikely that they would be able to make that work.
