Edmonton Oilers get rid of assistant GM Brad Holland
Today, the Edmonton Oilers announced that they parted ways with their assistant general manager, Brad Holland.
For those who are not aware, Holland is the son of former general manager, Ken Holland. Fans liked Brad for his scouting efforts and the fact that he helped bring in some great young talents. However, he is reportedly moving on.
In a statement today, the Oilers claimed that Holland and the Oilers made a mutual decision to part ways. Furthermore, Jeff Jackson put out a statement thanking Holland for his work with the franchise.
"We thank Brad for his work during his time with the organization & we wish him well in his future endeavours."
One must wonder what prompted this decision. With his father leaving the franchise, perhaps there was no reason for him to stay. Others suggest his relationship with General Manager Stan Bowman was sour from the get-go. For now, fans can only speculate.
