Last night, Oilers fans saw their season potentially go up in flames when McDavid went down with injury. With the team looking to secure a win late in the third period and in overtime, McDavid seemed to be unavailable on the bench - a rare sight for the generational talent.
In post game comments, head coach Jay Woodcroft confirmed that McDavid was dealing with an injury described as a muscle issue. A clip from earlier in the game showed McDavid mouthing something to the team trainer, as fans were worried that he tore a muscle.
Luckily for McDavid, the Oilers, and their fans, the injury appears to be more minor than anticipated. Today, the team announced that he will only miss one to two weeks with injury.
#Oilers say Connor McDavid expected to miss 1-2 weeks with an upper-body injury.
The Heritage Classic is on Sunday vs. #Flames . This is a tough news for the Oilers, but it's still much better than some expected.
