Earlier on OilersNow, insider Bob Stauffer shared a noteworthy update that has gone somewhat unnoticed this season. According to Stauffer, Leon Draisaitl has been dealing with a lingering injury throughout the entire year.

Stauffer didn't delve into the specifics of Draisaitl's injury. While it hasn't sidelined him this season, it might be impacting his performance to some extent. It's plausible that Draisaitl is managing minor symptoms, possibly avoiding surgery. Stauffer's comments can be watched in this video.

Unfortunately for Draisaitl and the Oilers, he has to participate in the all-star game instead of utilizing the opportunity for rest. On a positive note, the Oilers have their bye-week right after the All-Star break.

Additionally, it's been previously noted that Evander Kane has been playing through a persistent groin and hand injury. If both Draisaitl and Kane are battling injuries, it showcases their commitment to compensating for a slow start to the season when the Oilers' record was 2-9-1.

The players' dedication and determination are evident in their efforts to contribute to the team's playoff push.
