The Detroit Red Wing place forward Austin Czarnik on waivers
The Detroit Red Wings didn't waste any time reshaping their roster following the end of their season, as they've placed forward Austin Czarnik on waivers. The move, reported by CapFriendly, aims to send him down to their AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins.
"Placed on Waivers

At 31, Czarnik has had a foot in both leagues this season. In the AHL, he notched 26 points over 36 games for the Griffins, racking up nine goals and 17 assists, while also serving ten minutes in penalties and posting a minus-two rating.
His NHL stint with the Red Wings, however, was less prolific; in 34 games, he managed just a single assist and collected 12 penalty minutes, alongside a minus-three rating.
The Red Wings are hoping he clears waivers by Thursday at 2 p.m. ET so he can join the Griffins as they gear up for the Calder Cup Playoffs. The Griffins are currently in a decent spot, holding seventh place in the Western Conference and sitting second in the Central Division, with hopes of a deep playoff run this spring.
