Dylan Larkin Gets Sidelined After Being Injured 28 Seconds Into Game
The Detroit Red Wings had a promising start to the day, but it quickly took a turn for the worse during their matchup against the Florida Panthers.
Just 28 seconds into the game, the Red Wings suffered a major setback as their captain, forward Dylan Larkin, was injured. Larkin took a hard shot to the knee from his teammate, defenseman Jeff Petry, causing him to collapse on the ice in pain.
Struggling to move, Larkin had to be helped off the ice by teammates Alex Debrincat and Simon Edvinsson, with additional assistance from the Red Wings staff. The sight of their captain leaving the ice was concerning for the team, especially considering the importance of the game.
Update: There's a glimmer of hope for the Red Wings as Larkin has returned to the bench, though he has yet to rejoin the game on the ice.
Unfortunately as time went on, Larkin has left the bench once again and returned to the locker room, leaving his status uncertain for the remainder of the game.
