Detroit Red Wings Sign Promising Prospect To Entry Level Contract
Detroit Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman has made a move to ensure the future of the team looks bright by signing a promising young talent.
Center Emmitt Finnie, drafted 201st overall in the 2023 NHL Draft's seventh round, has just inked a three-year entry-level deal. He's set to join the Grand Rapids Griffins, the Red Wings' AHL affiliate, for the rest of the season.
Finnie has turned heads this season with the Kamloops Blazers in the WHL, notching 19 goals and 40 assists over 62 games.
For a closer look, here's what Elite Prospects has to say in their scouting report:
"Always in the right place, he consistently influences the play even without the puck. A non-stop engine powers him up and down the rink, making up space to poke away pucks on the backcheck and force turnovers on the forecheck. He enters every battle with a couple of shoulder checks to find options and has the skill to connect."
