John Tortorella Apologizes To The Media For His Recent Behaviour
Philadelphia Flyers head coach John Tortorella made headlines for his unexpected apology to the press ahead of his recent media briefing.
Following a 4-1 defeat to the Florida Panthers on Sunday, Tortorella had stirred up some controversy among journalists by declining to comment on goalie Felix Sandstrom's performance.
As the Flyers geared up for their next game against the Rangers, all eyes were on Tortorella at his first press meeting since the incident.
In an unanticipated move, Tortorella offered an apology, stating:
"I made a terrible mistake with you guys the other night. You might have asked me about Sanny. My body language was wrong. What I should have said to you was he tried. Sanny tried. Things happened this year that put our goaltending situation into a state of flux. Sanny did not deserve that from me. You had the perfect right to ask that question. He did not deserve that from me. It was wrong."
