24-year-old Flames forward Martin Pospisil has played only 55 games in his career, yet he's already gaining notoriety as one of the game's dirtiest players.

During his recent game he was ejected for a dangerous elbow to the head. Pospisil targeted Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey while he was breaking out the puck, but his elbow struck Morrissey's head with force. The hit, viewed from all angles, appeared egregious.

Pospisil received a major penalty and an ejection for the incident, and it's probable that the Department of Player Safety will take action. Just a month ago, Pospisil served a three-game suspension for a similar hit on Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn.

With this pattern of behavior in such a short span, he could be facing a lengthy suspension.

The NHL's Department of Player Safety has a reputation for inconsistency, but they typically come down hard on players like Pospisil who have a history of dangerous hits. An in-person hearing is a possibility for Pospisil given the severity of the hit.
