As a result, the Bruins are going to need some goaltending. Unfortunately, and with all due respect, Joonas Korpisalo is not going to be enough in today's NHL. Consequently, the team has to look far and wide for an array of options that could potentially help them out when times get tough.
With numerous teams putting players on waivers, now is as good a time as ever to get in on the action and potentially make a big change. Recently, the Vancouver Canucks put Jiri Patera on waivers. Today, the Bruins picked him up as a nice security blanket.
Now, some fans believe that the Patera pick-up is a guarantee that Swayman is going to be dealt. Fans should probably pump the brakes on that kind of assertion. At the end of the day, the Bruins still want to make it happen with Swayman. Of course, it isn't looking too good right now, but that could certainly change very soon.
It will be up to Cam Neely and Swayman to put their conflict aside and approach the negotiations in good faith. Although considering the events of the past week, that might just be a whole lot easier said than done right now.
Do you believe this means that Swayman is guaranteed to get traded? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite players and teams.
