Jeremy Swayman and the Boston Bruins are making NHL headlines every single day thanks to their contract negotiation that has gone horrible and horrifically wrong.

As many of you already know, Swayman wants a lot of money and he wants to reset the goalie market. However, the Bruins have put $7.8 million per year over eight years on the table. Cam Neely put some pressure on Swayman to take the deal, however, the goaltender has yet to budge. Now, it feels like some sort of breakup is all but confirmed.
That said, it is now being reported by journalist Jimmy Murphy that Cam Neely has some dirty tricks up his sleeve as this drags on. Essentially, Neely will slowly lower his offer to Swayman as soon as the regular season begins. Therefore, if Swayman wants to maximize his earning potential, he will need to accept the deal by opening night.
"They're very likely going to pull that off the table once the season starts," the source told Sick Podcast News. "When that happens, it will decrease after a certain amount of games and continue to do so as the season progresses."
At that point, the Bruins will probably want to consider trading Swayman altogether. In fact, there are rumblings that he could even ask for a trade if this keeps going on any longer. For all intents and purposes, it seems pretty obvious that this whole thing was handled poorly from the get-go, and now, the Bruins are really feeling it.
