TRADE: Minnesota Wild Trade Veteran Enforcer To The Boston Bruins
The Minnesota Wild has made a move, trading veteran forward Pat Maroon to the Boston Bruins. According to Wild insider Michael Russo of The Athletic, the return is likely a late-round conditional draft pick.
In exchange, Minnesota receives a conditional 2026 sixth-round pick.
This marks Maroon's second move this season. He was acquired by the Wild in the summer from the Tampa Bay Lightning, alongside forward Maxim Cajokovic, in exchange for a 2024 seventh-round draft pick.
Maroon has recorded four goals, 16 points, and 60 penalty minutes in 49 games this season. He recently underwent back surgery on Feb. 7, with an expected recovery time of four-to-six weeks. He's nearing a return, likely two to three weeks away.
Maroon is currently in the second season of a two-year, $2 million deal and is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
