The Florida Panthers are currently making a run for the Stanley Cup, as they are sitting in first place in the entire league, three points ahead of the second place Vancouver Canucks. To insure their run to the promise land, they've traded for one of the best winger's available.

Today, the Panthers traded for veteran left winger Vlaidimir Tarasenko. The Senators got a conditional 2024 4th round pick and a 2025 3rd round pick.

Tarasenko is 32 years old. This season, he has 17 goals and 24 assists, tallying up to 41 points in 57 games. He's a solid one-year rental for Florida and will certainly boost that forward core. Maybe even add him as a piece to the power play.

This is an absolute steal for the Panthers. Ottawa got fleeced, but they may have not had much to do with it as Tarasenko had a no trade clause. He probably told them he wanted to go to a cup contender and the Sens just made it happen.
