Calgary Flames reportedly verging closer and closer to a blockbuster trade
Overall, the Calgary Flames are off to a very hot start this season. They are currently sitting at a very solid record of 4-0 and are showing now signs of slowing down.
Having said that, fans are very interested to see if they can carry forth this momentum into the next leg of the NHL season. It is never easy to sustain this kind of success, especially when you have a young team that was expected to mostly be a part of a rebuild.
Now, Frank Seravalli is reporting that Flames GM Craig Conroy is trying to get a trade done. He wants to add a middle-six forward and truly believes this could transform the team into a win-now scenario.
"Not usually much trade activity to start a season, but I'm told Flames GM Craig Conroy has been working the phones in recent days to try and find a center to add to the Calgary Flames in their middle six, preferably someone who fits their age scheme, preferably, in a perfect world, a right shooting center."
Another player with this group would certainly be a good thing. However, there is no telling whether or not that is going to happen anytime soon. Trades are hard to come by, especially at this stage in the NHL season. Only time will tell whether or not the Flames can find a partner.
