Calgary Flames & Golden Knights have officially finalized their trade
The 2024 trade deadline shook things up, especially in the Pacific Division, where the Vegas Golden Knights snagged defenseman Noah Hanifin from the Calgary Flames.
This unexpected move came with some conditions, both of which have now been settled.
The 2024 3rd round pick #VegasBorn sent to the #Flames in the Noah Hanifin trade will NOT upgrade to a 2025 2nd round pick.
The first condition clicked into place early on when the Knights traded their 2025 first-round pick for Tomas Hertl. Now, the Flames are set to receive an unprotected 2026 first-round pick. The second condition was met as Vegas bowed out in the playoffs' first round. Instead of a 2025 second-round pick, Calgary will get a 2024 third-round pick.
On top of that, the Flames acquired promising defenseman Daniil Miromanov, who showed his potential on the team's power play. While not a blockbuster for Calgary, it's certainly a solid trade. As for Vegas, their playoff exit leaves them with fewer assets to bolster their team. So, while the dust settles on this deadline deal, it's now official.
