As soon as Dan Milstein brought Nikita Zadorov's trade request to light, it was like a countdown had started. Calgary Flames General Manager Craig Conroy was crystal clear about only wanting players fully committed to the team. It became evident – Zadorov's time in Calgary was winding down.
Today, the Flames officially announced the trade involving Zadorov.
General Manager Patrik Allvin revealed that the Canucks have successfully acquired defenseman Nikita Zadorov from the Calgary Flames. In exchange, the Flames secured a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft (originating from CHI) and a third-round pick in 2026.
This strategic move adds extra toughness to the Canucks' defensive lineup as they strive for a playoff push. Importantly, the cost for Vancouver was minimal, allowing them to maintain their valuable assets.
