Today Vladimir Tarasenko, a two-time Stanley Cup winner, signed a two-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings worth $4.75 million annually. The deal came hours after rumors circulated that Tarasenko would be signing with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Last season Tarasenko played for the Ottawa Senators and the Florida Panthers, where he scored 23 goals and 32 assists in 76 games during the 2023-2024 season. The Red Wings are hoping that Tarasenko's experience and scoring ability will help the team end their playoff drought.
