Two teams going through retro 90's rebrand for next seasons
As the NHL's official jersey supplier, Fanatics will make its debut in 2024–25, and we already know that two teams will be rebranding in advance of the October puck drop.
It was believed that Fanatics instructed teams to hold off on rebranding or new jerseys, but if teams already had them in the works, they could proceed. Fanatics had recently taken over from Adidas as the official jersey supplier of the National Hockey League.
That seems to be the case, and a few teams will undergo complete rebranding this summer, which is expected to evoke fond memories for hockey enthusiasts.
The greatest place to learn about uniforms and jerseys is Icethetics, which reports that the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks will be rebranding this summer. Both teams' new look should be ready to be unveiled at the NHL Entry Draft later this month.
"Getting more updates since posting the new #JerseyWatch video yesterday.
I can now confirm #GoKingsGo and #FlyTogether will have new uniforms AND new primary logos next season!
Rebrand bonanza coming to SoCal this summer. Both should be out by the #NHLDraft."
The Mighty Duck emblem will be returned by the Anaheim Ducks, Icethetics said, answering a long-standing fan request. Orange, black, and gold will be the new color palette for the updated Mighty Duck emblem.
In the meantime, the Los Angeles Kings will also be reliving the 1990s. They will be donning a black and silver, updated version of the Gretzky-era logo.
"I got a look at both logos and can say this:
🟠 #FlyTogether is a modernized version of the Mighty Ducks logo in orange, black and gold.
⚫️ #GoKingsGo is a modernized version of the Gretzky-era logo in black and silver with a new crown design inside.
Haven't seen jerseys yet."
It's going to be interesting to see how these jerseys look in a few weeks time, but it's an exciting time for fans of hockey uniforms in general with the return of the Mighty Duck logo on a full-time basis.
