The Toronto Maple Leafs were close to acquiring defender Chris Tanev before he was dealt to the Dallas Stars and this photo proves it.

After not being able to celebrate a Stanley Cup triumph since 1967, it appears as though Toronto Maple Leafs fans gaze in the mirror during the absurdly long offseason and wonder what could have been. Many of them have accepted this, but some continue to dissect everything that they believe went wrong, either in public or in private.

It appears that a picture of blue and white ProStock Hockey gloves, supposedly intended for Dallas Stars defenseman Chris Tanev, is making a lot more people happy than it did when it first surfaced online. The gloves are marketed as Warrior Alpha DX Pros.

It's crucial to keep in mind that one player probably wouldn't have made the Toronto Maple Leafs champions. As we all know, a lot of other things have to fall into place for the club to have success in the playoffs, and they simply didn't. Could Tanev have strengthened the defense for a squad in need of some extra toughness relative to a dog's age? Indeed. Would he have been able to resolve every issue the defense faced in 20232024? Not at all.

Even though Tanev is a fascinating player who might one day don a Maple Leafs jersey, one has to wonder if the team would perform better with him starting. In his career, he has only dressed for all 82 games once. The Leafs don't need that kind of headache because in the past, they have signed or acquired players who have promptly fallen hurt and are completely useless to them.
