Tragic News Strike As Beloved Actor Sadly Passes Away After Battle With ALS
A beloved Canadian actor known for his role in one of hockey's most iconic movies has tragically passed away at the age of 49.
Kenneth Mitchell, hailing from Toronto, Ontario, portrayed Ralph Cox in "Miracle," the acclaimed film depicting the 1980 US Olympic hockey team's remarkable journey to gold.
Cox, a draft pick for the Boston Bruins in 1977, didn't make it to the NHL but found success in Europe during his professional career. Despite being cut from the US Olympic team due to injury, Cox's legacy lived on as he later earned two Stanley Cup rings with the Pittsburgh Penguins and saw his name etched on the prestigious trophy in 1992.
"The actor who played Ralph Cox, Kenneth Mitchell, passed away Saturday at 49 after a 5-year battle with ALS. #ALSucks"
Despite his diagnosis with ALS in 2019, Mitchell continued to pursue his passion for acting, gracing screens in popular films and TV series like Captain Marvel, Jericho, Star Trek: Discovery, NCIS, CSI, and more.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Kenneth Mitchell's family, friends, and fans during this difficult time.
