The rumors pertaining to forward Jake DeBrusk of the Boston Bruins have been continuously over the past few seasons. It appears that the hard-nosed forward's time with the Boston Bruins is running out, as he has expressed his desire to leave town on multiple occasions.
Three teams are interested in the young forward, per the Win Column. DeBrusk is wanted by the Carolina Hurricanes, Calgary Flames, and Edmonton Oilers.
The 27-year-old DeBrusk was a member of the Boston Bruins for 80 games last season, recording a total of 40 points (19 goals, 21 assists). In 13 playoff games, he also recorded five goals and six assists for a total of 11 points.
The Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames seem to be interested in each other, but come July 1st, Carolina will also be considered.
All three teams can get a good player who has demonstrated that he can improve when the playoffs roll around for the right price. What will his number be in free agency is the question. I believe you should contract him long-term for less than $5 million if you can, especially if you're the Calgary Flames.
We'll see what happens but all science point to DeBrusk leaving as soon as he can in free agency.
