The Pittsburgh Penguins announced that they completed a few roster moves a day after the trade deadline and a humiliating 4-0 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.

Rumors stated that the Pittsburgh Penguins had big plans ahead of the trade deadline, but here we are, a day after the deadline, and all the Penguins' big guns remained with the team.
While some reports stated that either Erik Karlsson, Kris Letang, or Rickard Rakell could end up leaving the team on the trade market, Kyle Dubas, the Pens' President of Hockey Operations, completed underwhelming moves to add a lot of draft picks and struggling prospects.
The team made trades with the San Jose Sharks, Nashville Predators, Winnipeg Jets, Washington Capitals, New Jersey Devils, and Toronto Maple Leafs.
They parted ways with Vincent Desharnais, Michael Bunting, Anthony Beauvillier, Cody Glass, Jonathan Gruden, Luke Schenn, and several draft picks (2026 fourth-round, 2025 fifth-round). In return, they added Tommy Novak, Chase Stillman, Max Graham, Conor Timmins, Connor Dewar, and multiple draft picks (2028 fifth-round, 2026 second-round, 2027 fourth-round, 2027 third-round, 2025 second-round).
The team was back on the ice last night and lost 4-0 to the Vegas Golden Knights, even though most of the new team members weren't in the lineup.
Today, the team isn't in action but is preparing to face the Minnesota Wild tomorrow afternoon.
The organization announced two official roster moves: they signed Ryan Shea to a one-year extension and called up Jack St. Ivany from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on an emergency basis.
An official statement was released by the team about Shea's signing.
Read the full details here:
"The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed defenseman Ryan Shea to a one-year contract extension, it was announced today by President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Kyle Dubas.

The contract runs through the 2025-26 season and carries an average annual value of $900,000.

Shea, 28, has played in 28 games with Pittsburgh this season, tallying career highs across the board with two goals, three assists, and five points. The defenseman recorded his first career two-goal game on February 23 against the New York Rangers and skated in a career-high 23:48 minutes on March 2 against Toronto.

Shea has played in 59 career NHL games, all with Pittsburgh over the past two seasons, and has tallied three goals, three assists, and six points.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defenseman has appeared in 186 career American Hockey League games between the Texas Stars and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, totaling 72 points (12G-60A).

The Milton, Massachusetts native played four seasons (2016-20) with Northeastern University (NCAA). Shea was originally drafted by Chicago in the fourth round (121st overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft."
Fans are eager to see what Dubas does now that he has all these draft picks. It wouldn't be surprising to see him flip a few of those at the end of the season in a blockbuster trade.
