Connor Dewar and Conor Timmins are new faces in Pittsburgh, and now they've opened up on the process and their future with the Penguins.

The Pittsburgh Penguins made a flurry of moves at the trade deadline, including Kyle Dubas making a deal with his former team the Toronto Maple Leafs, acquiring forward Connor Dewar and blue liner Conor Timmins in the process.
We know that the trade deadline is tough for players, especially with the uncertainty of their future, and now, Dewar has revealed the odd circumstances around the two finding out they had been traded.
«We were on the speakerphone with our GM, and found out we were traded."

According to Dewar, it was when he was getting attended too following a high stick at practice that both he and Timmins found out they were traded, with GM Brad Treliving informing them of the deal.
Clearly, Dubas has a relationship with both players and was very complimentary when he was asked about Timmins following the trade.
«He's a good size (6-foot-3, 213 pounds), incredibly intelligent defenseman. Excellent puck mover. We traded for him my last year in Toronto. He's continued to assert himself there. We think at his age and his capability to move the puck and defend, we still think there's a lot of potential there.»

Those compliments and the ability to step on the ice and prove Dubas right are a major positive for Timmins, who is motivated to prove his new General Manager right.
«I think he values my game, and that's exciting for me as a player, to have someone believe in you like that. I'm just excited to prove him right out there.»

As for Dewar, the chance to play alongside Sidney Crosby has got him very excited, with the chance to play for another very successful franchise in Pittsburgh having him excited for this new chance.
«Yeah, of course that's the first thing that comes to mind. I think my phone probably blew up more about that than anything about myself. So, it's exciting. It's a franchise that's been successful and has a track record of developing players. So, it's a great opportunity."

While neither player is likely to transition into a star in Pittsburgh, they're both certainly solid pieces for a team that needs good depth around their stars, and if given the chance, both can certainly contribute to winning on a very good team.
