Sidney Crosby will go down as one of the NHL's greatest ever players, and now he's joined an illustrious list of the league's best after his latest goal.
At 37-years of age, the history keeps on coming for Crosby, and with his latest goal, he joined an illustrious list of players to have 20 or more goals in an incredible 17 different seasons.
The list of players in front of Crosby on that list is a who's who of NHL greats including Gordie Howe, Alex Ovechkin, Ron Francis, Brendan Shanahan, Jaromir Jagr and Dave Andreychuk.
Not only that, but Crosby is also still an elite passer who plays a 200ft game, and with 47 assists to go along with his 20 goals, he's set to finish a season above a point-per-game for the 20th time in his NHL career, hitting the mark in all 19 of his prior seasons for Pittsburgh.
While Crosby continues to garner the respect of everyone in the hockey world, many believe his true consistency at the NHL level has gone underrated over the years, because while he's not as flashy as other greats, he's an incredible leader and has simply never had a bad season since being drafted back in 2005.
Ultimately, Crosby still has at least another two years of elite play in him, and if he continues at this level, serious conversations will need to be had about him among the greatest players of all time, and while the attention may be on Alex Ovechkin's chase for Gretzky, that shouldn't take anything away from what an incredible player No. 87 has been.
