In the offseason, the team made the controversial decision to rid John Tavares of the Captaincy and to give it to Auston Matthews. This is one of those decisions that elicits a lot of reactions. While Cherry had been fairly quiet on the issue, he has now made his opinion clear. Ultimately, he believes something is deeply wrong with the Leafs.
