When it was announced that the Toronto Maple Leafs were not being Kyle Dubas back as General Manager, it was made out as if he'd been done wrong by Brendan Shanahan. After Dubas' departure the media tried to paint a picture of a GM control. Reports surfaced that Dubas was always forced to run every decision through Shanahan instead of having the power he wanted.

However, since becoming the President of Hockey Operations and General Manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Dubas has continued to repeat exactly what he did in Toronto. Multiple reports surfaced about Dubas being a bit of a control freak, the latest reports definitely confirm that.

According to today's news Dubas has now mandated even the color of pads his goaltenders must wear.

Here's Tristan Jarry in his new pads. All of the Penguins goalies are wearing white this year, per instructions from management.

Some stats indicate that goalies who wear white pads give up fewer goals, which could support this decision. But forcing a goalie to alter his pads because of a fancy stay may not go over well with the team.

Either way this seems like a strange choice by a General Manager.
