Phil Kessel spent six seasons in Toronto being viewed as a player that the Leafs would never be able to win with. Well, following his third career Stanley Cup win, Kessel continues to prove his doubters wrong and has once again rubbed salt in the wounds of all of his detractors in Toronto.

As we all know, each season when a team wins the Stanley Cup, each player in the organization has the opportunity to spend a day with the Cup. The player chooses the place and for Kessel, that day was yesterday and the place he chose was Toronto, believe it or not.
Obviously, Kessel chose to come to Toronto to flash his third Cup around town as a way of saying "how do you like them apples?", but this isn't the first time Kessel has brought the Cup to Toronto wither. He did the same in 2016 after winning his first Cup.
We all know about Kessel's relationship with Toronto Sun writer Steve Simmons. The two were often seen bickering anytime Kessel met with the media and Simmons even wrote a piece in the Sun about Kessel's obsession with a specific hot dog vendor in Toronto, though Kessel had refuted the report on a number of occasions. He even took a shot at Simmons in 2017, filling the Stanley Cup with hot dogs on a golf course during his day with the prestigious trophy.
Kessel may have moved on in body, but he obviously hasn't moved on from Toronto in mind or spirit, as he continues to stick it to his doubters. As it turns out, it's not that hard to win with Phil Kessel after all and with his 3 Cup rings, I don't think he'll let anyone in Toronto forget about it anytime soon.
