Red Wings Goalie Faces Another Injury After Starting For The 1st Time In Months
In a surprising move, the Detroit Red Wings opted to start goaltender Ville Husso after nearly two months without a start, facing off against the formidable offense of the Edmonton Oilers instead of sticking with the in-form Alex Lyon.
However, Husso's start was short-lived. Shortly after allowing the game's opening goal, he suffered an injury while attempting to make a save against sniper Leon Draisaitl, forcing him to leave the game.
With Husso sidelined, Lyon took over in net, but unfortunately, he was greeted with another goal, extending the Oilers' lead to 2-0.
This marked Husso's first start since sustaining a lower body injury against the Anaheim Ducks at Little Caesars Arena on December 18th.
