Tensions Rise As Dryden Hunt & Jan Jenik Drop The Gloves At Centre Ice
It was a relatively quiet night in the NHL with only four games on tap, but there's always a chance for sparks to fly, especially when tough competition hits the ice.
Tonight's late game featured the Arizona Coyotes squaring off against the Calgary Flames. The action heated up when Flames forward Dryden Hunt and Coyotes Jan Jenik came to blows right on the Flames' logodefinitely a sight to see.
The brawl broke out midway through the first period with the game knotted at 2-2, likely sparked by an earlier hit on Martin Pospisil.
Initially, the fighters seemed evenly matched, but Jenik quickly took control, landing a flurry of punches and overpowering Hunt until the referees stepped in to separate them.
Dryden Hunt and Jan Jenk drop the gloves!
I think this fight had something to do with the Pospisil hit earlier in the game

While the staged brawls of the past are long gone, the tradition of fighting in hockey persists. It's seen as a way for players to regulate the game themselves, a necessary part of the sport's gritty charm.
