It wasn't a busy night in the NHL on Wednesday with just 2 games on the docket. One of those games was a matchup between the Ottawa Senators and the Washington Capitals. While these two clubs aren't exactly heated rivals, the fur still flew in this one, as Washington's Tom Wilson dropped the gloves with Ottawa's Mark Kastelic.

With the Capitals down 5-1 late in the second period, frustrations began to boil over, with Wilson trying to spark his team by dropping the mitts. Kastelic was happy to oblige him in a heavyweight scrap.

Each of Wilson and Kastelic landed some nice shots before being separated by the officials. With only a minute left in the period, the two combatants were sent to their respective locker rooms and began the 3rd period in the box. Wilson and Kastelic received five minutes each for fighting, while Wilson also got a two-minute minor for unsportsmanlike conduct, giving the Sens a power play.

The Sens skated away with a 6-1 win in this one, stunning the Caps and putting them in the precarious position of having begun the season 1-2-0. Meanwhile, thanks to their blowout win, the Senators currently lead the Atlantic Division with a 3-1-0 record.
