Washington Capitals fans ecstatic as team brings back Stanley Cup winner
Overall, the Washington Capitals are a team that is not expected to do a whole lot this season as they are aging and have lost a few pieces.
However, something that made fans happy in the offseason was when they announced that they were bringing back forward
Jakub Vrana on a PTO. Vrana was a first-round pick of the Capitals back in 2014. He played for the Capitals when they won their Stanley Cup in 2018, however, he was eventually sent to St. Louis. In recent years, he has struggled and even got sent down to the AHL.
Today, the Capitals announced that Vrana had passed his PTO. The star has proven he can still play in the NHL and the team rewarded him with a one-year deal worth $775K. It is also a one-way contract which is another sign that he is back in shape.
As you can imagine, Capitals fans are very excited about the signing. While it doesn't mean they are title contenders all of a sudden, it is still one of those signings that makes fans happy and a bit nostalgic at the same time. You can see all of the responses, down below.
We wish Vrana the best of luck this season. We hope he is able to make it stick in the league, going forward. At 28 years old, he still has a lot of gas left in the tank.
