Alexander Ovechkin is looking to break Wayne Gretzky's NHL scoring record as he is just 42 goals away from officially taking the lead.

However, in order to get the record, he will need to stay healthy. At his age, staying healthy is going to be no easy task. You can't just wave a magic wand and have good health for the rest of your career. Having said that, Ovechkin has left many Capitals fans concerned on Monday.

According to The Hockey News, Ovechkin injured himself during the opening minutes of the informal skate. He immediately winced in pain and then went back to the locker room where he has yet to emerge.

There is no update on Ovi's status but there is no doubt that he injured himself on the play. Even if it is just a little small minor injury, this will definitely have Capitals fans wondering about his health heading into the season. Hopefully, the injury isn't so bad and he can return at some point soon.
