Last night, the Washington Capitals faced off against the Nashville Predators, and the game didn't conclude as expected after the buzzer. Predators forward Tommy Novak decided to break the unwritten code by scoring on the Washington net after the game had ended. Check it out:

As the clock ran down, Novak made the questionable move of putting the puck in the net after the buzzer.

In response, Capitals defender Nick Jensen didn't hold back, delivering a slewfoot to Novak. It's a retaliatory move that raises eyebrows, especially considering the potential risk of injury to Novak. However, given the nature of Novak's play, retaliation was almost inevitable.

The aftermath will be intriguing to watch. Will the Predators respond to the slewfoot on Novak? The two teams face off for the final time this season on December 30th, and that game is bound to be one to keep an eye on.
