Thatcher Demko is one of the best goaltenders in the entire world and when he is on his game, the Vancouver Canucks flash some Stanley Cup potential.

However, he has had his fair share of injury issues over the years. According to reports from Rich Dhaliwal who was on Sportsnet 650 recently, Demko has not skated since Game 7 against the Edmonton Oilers. In fact, there is now a fear that he will not be ready for training camp and that he may not start the season, entirely.
"Well I think his status is very important. You guys know that training camp is around the corner and here we are in mid-August and no one is talking about Demko and what's going on." Dhaliwal said. "So, what I am hearing on Demko is that he's progressing, but no timetable as to when he's going to be 100 percent healthy."

Bad News for Thatcher Demko

Dhaliwal provided some extra content to Demko's rehab, although it is all still very concerning. Meanwhile, he added that it appears as though the Canucks could be in the market to find another goaltender before the season starts. Overall, this would be a precautionary measure.
"Now, Demko's coming off the back-to-back knee injuries, so sometimes rehab is fast, and sometimes rehab is slow," Dhaliwal said. "Canucks, I've been told, have been worried about Demko's rehab going back to the NHL draft. I think by that time, Demko had not skated since Game 7 against the Oilers."
