The Toronto Maple Leafs are facing a critical moment on Tuesday night, trailing 3-1 against the Boston Bruins in game five at TD Garden. Their star player, Auston Matthews, left the game in the third period due to an undisclosed illness, raising concerns about his availability for the upcoming match.

Coach Sheldon Keefe addressed the media, expressing concern about Matthews' health heading into game five.

While some criticize the Leafs' performance in the playoffs, citing a lack of presence, others point to bad luck, particularly with key players like William Nylander and Auston Matthews not performing at their peak. Matthews, who scored only one goal in the series, hasn't delivered the stellar performances fans expected after his impressive 69-goal season.

Sheldon Keefe gave an update on Matthews' health status following his absence from Saturday night's game.

Sheldon Keefe on Auston Matthews: "For whatever reason, it's not one of those run-of-the-mill everyday type of illnesses that sort of come and go. This one has lingered. The affects have lingered and gotten worse when he gets on the ice and is asserting himself."

The team is awaiting further information to determine if Matthews will be sidelined for the crucial game five against the Bruins, with the Leafs facing elimination.
