Perhaps the biggest game of the evening involved the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators. Prior to the game, the Leafs held a 13-second moment of silence for the two brothers. 13 seconds is not a very long time, however, that did not matter for some Maple Leafs fans.
According to accounts from inside and outside of the arena, some fans were yelling "Go Leafs" when they should have been quiet. Overall, this is extremely disgusting and the fans should know better. The Gaudreaus are worthy of your respect, even if Johnny may have played for a rival team. Having said all of that, it was yet another bad look for the Toronto faithful.
Perhaps karma came back to bite them, as it was the Ottawa Senators who were victorious, by a scores of 6-5. It was a good game for Max Pacioretty, however, as the veteran forward ended up with two goals. Now, he is expected to make the roster, which is huge for his career.
As for the Leafs fans, hopefully, they learn their lesson and become more respectful in the future.
