The Pittsburgh Penguins have officially revealed their plans for Sidney Crosby ahead of the trade deadline, according to two renowned insiders.

Once again this season, the Pittsburgh Penguins aren't going anywhere, currently in last place in the Metropolitan Division with 58 points, nine points away from the second wild-card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
The NHL trade deadline is approaching, and Kyle Dubas' plans were recently confirmed.
In a recent article posted on The Athletic, insiders Chris Johnston and Pierre LeBrun revealed that the Penguins' President of Hockey Operations will continue to reshape his roster, looking to add young players, prospects, and picks.
They added that Dubas will keep Sidney Crosby and build around him, as the veteran remains an impactful player on and off the ice at 37 years old.
In their own words:
"For Kyle Dubas, the deadline represents an opportunity to continue his mission of turning over the roster. There are very few untouchables in Pittsburgh, with the GM prioritizing young NHL players, prospects, and draft picks as a return in any deals for his established roster players.

While not stocked with any of the most prized rentals on the market, Pittsburgh would like to be active. The organization has no intention of putting its biggest name in play-Sidney Crosby-as it tries to retool its way back to respectability, and the 37-year-old captain remains an impactful player."
Crosby isn't slowing down on the ice. In his 20th NHL campaign, he still manages to maintain a point-per-game pace, scoring 65 points in 61 games so far this year.
In the Penguins' last game, a 6-5 defeat to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Crosby recorded three points. Despite being the oldest player on his team, he remains at the top of the scoring standings, 13 points ahead of Rickard Rakell, who ranks second.
Even if the team likely won't make the playoffs again this season, the Penguins can count on Crosby to give it his all on the ice.
Tonight, an interesting matchup awaits fans as the Penguins face the Colorado Avalanche and Crosby's Four Nations Face-Off teammate and friend Nathan MacKinnon.
