After a whirlwind of trades shaking up the NHL last week, most players have settled into their new homes.

However, Ryan Johansen's situation with the Philadelphia Flyers stands out as an exception. Johansen, brought over from the Colorado Avalanche, was essentially a financial move to balance out the acquisition of Sean Walker.
Right after landing Johansen, the Flyers put him on waivers, aiming to move him to the American Hockey League. But Johansen seems to be on a different page and might not even join the Flyers.
« It appears that Ryan Johansen is dealing with injuries and it is still unclear if he'll report to LV - something seemingly out of left field. Johansen is a buyout candidate this summer (if healthy). Injured players cannot be bought out.«
Johansen's past with Head Coach John Tortorella in Columbus, marked by its ups and downs, adds another layer of intrigue to the situation. The possibility of a buyout for Johansen this summer is now murky due to his injury situation.
«Johansen has been dealing with minor things all season, but this is a new development. If a buyout this summer is an option, it would cost PHI & NAS $1,333,334 each against their caps in each of the next two seasons.»

As the story unfolds, all eyes will be on Philadelphia to see how this situation with Johansen resolves.
