The hockey season stretches out with its 82 games, providing plenty of room for tensions to rise among players. For some teams, a bit of internal friction can actually fuel their performance, but it seems the New Jersey Devils are feeling the strain.
In a recent match against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Devils started strong, leading 3-1 by the end of the second period. However, their momentum took a nosedive in the final stretch.
Sidney Crosby's goal early in the third period narrowed the gap to 3-2, and from there, the Devils seemed to unravel. They conceded five goals in the last 13 minutes, ending the game with a bitter 6-3 defeat.
A fan sitting behind the Devils' bench captured a revealing moment during the third period, where Timo Meier's frustration boiled over, directed at team captain Nico Hischier.
