This afternoon, Predators head coach Andrew Brunette confirmed on a radio show that Liam Foudy, a former first-round pick, will hit waivers at 2 p.m. ET.
Addressing the decision, Brunette stated,
"Tough coming in when we already have guys as the extra [player]. He brings speed, and I'd like to see him go down there and get a little more finish and a little stronger. If he clears, I'm really excited to have him in the organization. I really like the kid and I really like his speed."
Foudy, 23, was initially selected 18th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2018 and joined Nashville after being claimed off waivers in October.
In his 12 games with the Predators this season, Foudy contributed three assists, two penalty minutes, and carries a minus-two rating.
