Montreal Canadiens Place 25-Year Old Defenceman On Waivers
The Montreal Canadiens are adjusting their defense lineup, making a move within the next 24 hours. Prior to their upcoming game against the Flyers in Philadelphia, the Canadiens revealed that they've placed defenseman Gustav Lindstrom on waivers with the intention of assigning him to the AHL's Laval Rocket.
«Placed on NHL waivers today: Gustav Lindstrom (MTL)." TSN's Chris Johnston said.»
Lindstrom, 25, joined the Canadiens in August as part of a deal that also included a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, with Jeff Petry heading to a three-team exchange involving Pittsburgh and San Jose, orchestrated by Kent Hughes.
In his 14 games with the Canadiens this season, the native of Ostervala, Sweden, has contributed four points (three goals, one assist), incurred six penalty minutes, and maintained an even rating.
On a related note, Calgary Flames forward Kevin Rooney has successfully cleared waivers, paving the way for his assignment to the American Hockey League's Calgary Wranglers, where he'll continue his recovery from shoulder surgery.
