Minnesota Wild Goalie Opens Up About Trade Deadline Plans

One player at the center of trade rumors is veteran goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury. With his contract expiring and the possibility of this being his final NHL season, Fleury is a prime candidate to be moved before the deadline. However, in a recent interview, the goalie revealed his intentions.

"Every year, when players' contracts come to an end, names of pending free agents always come up in the rumors to be on the move. For me, my team is Minnesota. We have such a good group of guys and great chemistry. I've been here for over two seasons. I'm not thinking about leaving or going somewhere else. I want to continue to fight with my team to try to make the postseason."

 

While Fleury's commitment to Minnesota is clear, the reality of the situation is uncertain. With the Wild likely to miss the playoffs, will Fleury still hold the same stance as the deadline approaches?

Despite his age, Fleury has shown flashes of brilliance this season, reminding everyone of his Hall of Fame caliber. His impressive performances have garnered attention from other teams, especially given the thin goaltending market.
